Well known Cork City public house, Donkeys Ears(Union Quay) was synonymous with the Cork dance music scene for over 10 years. Run by Tim and Michelle Ring until 1998, Donkeys Ears gave aspiring DJ’s a platform with an emphasis on Reggae, Soul and Hip Hop styles of music. Well known local DJ’s who regularly played there included STEVIE G(Red FM) + BELLYMAN + FORK + JK plus international guests included IDJUT BOYS and PETER HOLDSWORTH. The bar was also regularly featured in popular music magazines Mixmag and DJ putting both Donkey’s Ears and the Cork dance music scene on the map.

Michelle Ring is now married to Sean O’Neill who was manager of THE legendary Cork club Sir Henry’s from 1988 to 1996. Sean O’Neill is travelling to Haiti with Haven as part of the Build-It Week this coming April 2010 and all proceeds on the night are going direct to this Irish Charity.
