A pioneering DJ, photographer and visual artist, Donal Dineen’s broadcasting career began presenting the music television programme No Disco on RTE Network Two from 1994 to 1997. Between 1997 and December 2011 he presented two late night music shows, Here Comes The Night & The Small Hours, to great acclaim on Today FM. He won a Hot Press award in 2001, a PPI silver medal for Music Broadcaster of the Year in 2010 and the Digital Socket Broadcaster of the Year in 2011. He has directed music videos and documentaries for David Gray, Lisa Hannigan, Katie Kim, Niwel Tsumbu and others. He taught Radio and Film in Dundalk IT from January to June 2012.
He contributes to and curates a multitude of music/film and visual events the most recent being The Art of Music in The National Gallery & Pipe Dreams in the National Library for the St Patricks Festival 2012.
He runs The Neighborhood Wash events at The Joinery Gallery in Dublin 7.In 2010 he founded the Parish music project and is currently mixing an LP he produced with musicians, Niwel Tsumbu, Liam O Maonlai, Aminah Dastan and Sean Mac Erlaine. He is at present working on post-production of a film of The Willie Clancy Festival with Arbutus Yarns.
