Junctions #5 - New Traditional Music Encounters
Sorry, this event has already taken place...The hugely successful Junctions series comes to an end with a final bash on the 10th November at the Pavilion. Bringing together a diverse collection of supreme musicians from very different backgrounds and cultures, this promises to be not only the highlight of the series but also a fitting finale to an exceptional series of concerts. Appearing are legendary Breton flautist Jean-Michel Veillon, ‘celtic-jazz-trumpeter’ Neil Yates from Manchester, space-age piper Tyler Duncan from Michigan, bodhrán and bones guru Mel Mercier, along with the one and only, renaissance man Dónal Lunny. The concert will also feature one of the most outstanding young fiddlers in the country, Dónal O’Connor, as well as regular hosts Buille and Karan Casey. The concert will feature solo sets from all the artists as well as plenty of collaboration - both planned and spontaneous!
“Junctions - New Traditional Music Encounters” is produced by Niall and Caoimhín Vallely, and is part-funded by the Arts Council’s Deis scheme.
